- Float the nymph pattern with twitches and pull to the surface at the end of the float.
- Dun
- Look for cool water, springs, deeper water, side streams ect. Move to casting position very quietly and cast with minimum of commotion as trout are very wary in the low water conditions of mid summer. Compara dun style is best pattern. Be aware that trout may be taking the potomanthus distinctus which could also be hatching at this time of summer.

- Spinner falls at dusk very similar to E. guttulata
