Cinnamon Sedge Comments:
Hydropsychidae family is the most widespread and important to both the trout and the flyfisher. Trout feed on all life stages regularly and heavily. The ceratopsyche genus which includes the species bronta, morosa and sparna are generally imitated by Brownish wing, Yellowish body flies.

The larvae use a silk anchor to keep from drifting away with the currents but acts as a triggering mechanism for feeding trout. An olive-brown larval pattern with leader colored white is an effective technique.

Pupal- Cutting free from the cocoon, the hydropsyche emergers drift but briefly with bottom currents. They swim quickly to the underside of the meniscus where they drift for extended periods while struggling free of the pupal sheath. This drift provides a huge and easy feeding opportunity for the trout. The Brown and Yellow Emergent Sparkle Pupa was made for this activity.

Adults can be imitated by the Diving Caddis and the Dancing Caddis.
